payment

Before making payment, you must contact me via email to confirm that the animal is still available. Payment in full must be received prior to shipment of the animal. Animals may be placed on hold pending payment in full (see details below). At this time I only accept payments made through PayPal or Postal Money Orders, unless special arrangements have been made.

Paypal

Credit card payments are accepted through PayPal, and should be sent to the following address: sales@bushwhackherps.com  You do not need to have a PayPal account to use it for making a credit card payment.

Postal Money Orders

If you are making payment with a Postal Money Order, you will need to mail it to me via USPS with Delivery Confirmation in order to get a tracking number. After arranging purchase, I will hold the animal for 48 hours, after which time I will require a tracking number in order to continue holding the animal. If I do not receive a tracking number within 48 hours, the animal will be placed back up for sale.

Placing an Animal on Hold

To place an animal on hold, a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the purchase price is required.  The remaining balance must be paid in full within 15 days, or the animal will go back up for sale and the deposit will be forfeited.

>shipping

Unless otherwise noted, prices do not include shipping costs.  Shipping is done via FedEx Next Day Air service at a flat rate of $50 to anywhere in the continental U.S.  For most locations, that means the package will be delivered by 10:30am.  You must be present to sign for and receive the package. Animals will be shipped in a box insulated with 3/4" foam and heat-packs & cool-packs as needed. Tracking Numbers are provided via email so that you can track your package online. For the safety of the animal, I will only ship packages Monday-Wednesday, when temperatures at departure & destination locations are forecasted to be between 40-80ºF. The safety of the animal is my number one priority and I will not make exceptions to this rule. I reserve the right to postpone shipment until weather conditions or other circumstances improve.  I will gladly work with you to arrange the best day for shipping and receiving the animal. In most cases multiple animals can be shipped in the same box for the $50 shipping rate. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Live Arrival

Live arrival is guaranteed when temperatures are between 40-80ºF and the package is delivered on time. This guarantee is void if you are not present or otherwise unable to sign for the package upon the first delivery attempt. I also cannot be held responsible for unforeseen carrier delays. If the animal arrives deceased, you must notify me within 4 hours of its arrival. The cost of the animal will be refunded minus the shipping costs once proof of the animal’s death has been provided.  If I do not hear from you within 4 hours, I will assume that the animal arrived alive and well.

Sex

If an animal is listed as “male” or “female,” the sex is guaranteed. If upon arrival of the animal you discover that it appears to be the wrong sex, contact me immediately. Juveniles who are too young for me to accurately sex are listed as “unsexed," and could be male or female. I do not sell probable males as unsexed. I generally loupe crested geckos once they reach a decent size and will list them as "probable male" or "probable female" based on the presence or absence of pre-anal pores. However, older geckos may still be listed as "unsexed" if after louping I am unable to determine whether or not pores are present (this may happen if the gecko has heavy patterning, unusual coloration in the area, or if there are only a few questionable looking scales). "Probable males" and "probable females" are just that ... "probable," no guarantee is made regarding sex, the information is simply an educated guess provided for the sole purpose of helping potential buyers make the most informed decision possible.

Tails

It is not unusual for a crested gecko to drop its tail ... it is a natural occurance. They may drop their tail when under stress or when handled improperly. However, some drop their tails for no apparent reason. I feel strongly that a gecko’s worth should NOT be contingent upon it keeping its tail. Unless otherwise noted, all animals for sale have intact tails. If however, the animal were to drop its tail before shipment, I will notify you to discuss replacement of the animal or refund (in case this circumstance affects your interest in purchase). However, in the unlikely event that the animal drops its tail during shipment, I cannot be held responsible.

Color

Crested gecko coloration is highly variable and dependent in part on environmental factors such as temperature, light, stress, activity level, etc.  I also cannot control how a gecko’s color appears on your computer monitor, since every monitor displays color and contrast differently. Therefore, no guarantee is made regarding color.  I do my best to take and select photographs that are accurate representations of what the gecko looks like in person. Unless otherwise noted, most photographs are taken during the evening hours when the gecko is awake and in its “fired up” state. If you are concerned about color, or would like to see additional pictures of a gecko, please let me know and I will do my best to fulfill your request. It is also helpful to keep in mind that a gecko’s coloration changes and develops as it gets older, usually becoming better with age. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.
